Pick a word, any word

Choose a Japanese word that you want to memorize.

What about "room"? The Japanese word for room is heya.

I'm going to show you a unique method to remember this word forever. Beware: Try as you might, you won't be able to forget it!

Link the word to something you know

heya sounds like "Hey" as in "Hey you!". That one doesn't help very much, but there are a lot of English words with a "Hey" sound in them.

What about associating the Japanese word heya to "hay" (as in bale of hay)

Imagine for 10 seconds using the link

Now, just bring together the link we made.

Close your eyes and imagine the following for the next 10 seconds:

"Imagine there are bales of hay all over the room"

All done!

That's it... Now you'll always remember that the Japanese word for room is heya.
